Dr. Jessica Lewis received her Doctorate from Life Chiropractic College West in June of 2020. Dr. Lewis’s journey and experience with chiropractic began well before she began her Doctorate education.
As a three-sport high school student athlete Dr. Lewis benefitted from chiropractic team doctors, however at the time she did not know the difference between chiropractors and ATC or medical doctors. Beginning her Interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Public Health at University of California Berkeley, she wanted to study the functionality of the body.
While at Cal she also increased her activity level and began playing rugby. Playing such a physical contact sport, Dr. Lewis found herself increasingly needing more holistic care. She found solace in Cal’s team doctor who counseled her on how to stay healthy and optimize function. This doctor was a chiropractor. Dr. Lewis’s nine-year rugby career has included selection as a USA Rugby All American, a Northern California All-Star, and she has won three USA Rugby National Titles with Life West Rugby. She attributes her health throughout her rugby successes, and her ability to continue playing rugby, to chiropractic care and methods.
Dr. Lewis knew she wanted to pursue an education in the practice that contributed to her healthy lifestyle and jumped at the opportunity to study chiropractic at Life West Chiropractic, after being offered an academic scholarship to play rugby for the college. During her time at Life West, Dr. Lewis suffered a back injury and found that the care plan that was most effective for her included CBP. Dr. Lewis found a passion for the specialized study of CBP and pursued both an internship and preceptorship in CBP.
Dr. Lewis is extremely grateful to be part of the PostureWorks team and excited to help her patients benefit from a holistic healthy lifestyle and CBP care to live their optimal life.
